What Data do we collect?

The personal information that we collect depends on how you interact with our sites. This can include the following:

You directly provide Leducate with most of the data we collect. We only collect and use your data for the purpose of reliance on a legitimate interest in carrying out the activities of Leducate (legitimate interest), to enter into a contract with you (contractual), with your consent (consent), and/or for compliance with our legal obligations (legal reasons). We list the processing grounds we rely upon below:

  • Register online with Leducate (with your consent) such as a school with a login into our website

  • To post Leducate work (with your consent). We may post testimonials, articles or prepared curriculum work on our sites that may contain personal information. Prior to posting these, we will obtain your consent to use any personal information. If you wish to update, or delete your work then please contact leducate at olivia.english@leducate.co.uk detailing your contact information and the work in question. 

  • To send marketing and update communications (legitimate interests/your consent). When you provide us with your contact information, such as your email address, we and/or our third party marketing partners may use this information to contact you for marketing and communication purposes, as per your preference. You can opt-out of our marketing emails at any time. 

  • Request Feedback (with your consent or for legitimate interests). We may use your information to contact you to request feedback regarding your use of Leducate’s services. 

  • To protect our sites (legitimate interests/legal reasons). We may use your data as part of our efforts to keep our sites safe and secure, such as fraud monitoring or prevention. 

  • To enforce our terms, conditions and policies (legitimate reasons/legal reasons/Contractual).

  • To respond to legal requests (legal reasons). If we receive legal requests, we may need to inspect the data we hold to determine how to respond within the confines of the law.

  • For other Business Purposes (legitimate interests). We may use your data to improve our services, such as identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns, improving our sites and services to improve your experience. 

How Do We Store Your Data?

Leducate stores your data with both SquareSpace, whose servers are located in the United States of America and Google. Google has servers primarily in the US and Europe with three other locations, 1 in South America, and 2 in Asia. All information stored with Google is saved as small pieces of information across these servers. Leducate has taken appropriate measures to ensure that all personal data stored is safe and secure. Please be aware that we are unable to guarantee the complete safety of the internet and any communication between you and our sites should be done through a safe environment; transmission of personal information to and from our sites is at your own risk. 

Our company will only keep your personal data for as long as it is needed as set out in this privacy policy. At the end of this period, your data will not be kept for a period any longer than 2 years, save where longer retention is required or permitted by law. Your information will remain with us for the period of time that you have an account with us, and/or that information is still in use. Once this period has expired, we will delete your data by securely deleting that data permanently off our servers and those of our third parties. From this point, the data will be unrecoverable.  

Transfer of information:

As the servers we use are stored across the globe, it is likely that there will be information stored outside of your geolocation. Please be aware therefore, that information may be transferred to, stored, and processed by us and those third parties with whom we may share your personal information in these locations. 

Google and Squarespace both comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework as set forth by the US Department of Commerce regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information transferred from the European Union to the United States and has certified its compliance with it. As such, Google and Squarespace are committed to subjecting all personal information received from the European Union member countries, in reliance on the Privacy Shield Framework, to the Framework’s applicable principles. Google and SquareSpace are both responsible for the processing of personal data they receive under the Privacy Shield Framework, and subsequently transfers to a third party acting as an agent on their behalf.
